Poly Loot Leveling Guide: EXP Sources and Milestones (Levels 9 and 30)
How leveling works in Poly Loot: stat points per level, EXP from codes, quests, and the XP Totem, plus reported level-gated milestones around Level 9 and Level 30.
Leveling in Poly Loot is a simple loop: defeat monsters, collect loot, equip better gear, and level up to upgrade your stats. Each level-up gives you a stat point, EXP comes mainly from kills, redeemable codes, quests, and the XP Totem, and the clearly documented level gates so far are around Level 9 (an armor upgrade requirement) and Level 30 (active abilities). There is no confirmed milestone attached to Level 10 or Level 25 at this time, and per-level EXP requirements are not published.
What happens when you level up: stat point choice
Every level-up hands you a choice between +1 Damage, +1 Health, and +1 Defense. Players report that Damage is the compounding early pick: enemies in the Grasslands die to a fixed number of swings, so each Damage point shortens fights and shrinks the window in which enemies can hit back. Bank Health or Defense once an area outruns your gear or a specific enemy keeps killing you.
How to earn EXP
- Killing monsters — the core loop: defeat monsters, collect loot, equip better gear, level up and upgrade your stats. See the Poly Loot codes guide for the current structured list and reported rewards.
- XP Totem from the Merchant — +50% XP in a radius, costing 1,000 coins.
- Quests — complete daily story and achievement quests, and stack multiple overlapping quests before a farming trip so one grind feeds several counters.
- Coin-boost claims (group join, like, favorite) improve income but are separate from XP gains.

Using the XP Totem for faster leveling
The Merchant sells an XP Totem for 1,000 coins that grants +50% XP to enemies killed within its radius. Place it where multiple enemies spawn next to each other so every kill in the area benefits; alongside quests, it's reported as the fastest leveling accelerator. One detail is unconfirmed: whether quest turn-ins completed inside the radius also receive the boost, so don't rely on that.
Level-gated unlocks and milestones
| Level threshold | Unlock or requirement |
|---|---|
| Level 9 | Required for an "increased armor" upgrade (player-reported); a player hit this gate and needed to grind to reach it |
| Level 10 | No specific unlock confirmed; one player planned to reach "level like 10" after hitting the level-9 gate before attempting an activity |
| Level 25 | No confirmed milestone has been documented |
| Level 30 | Active abilities unlock, slotted with Ability Runes (Berserk, Cannon, Ground Slam among the options); the introducing cave quest can arrive earlier than you can actually use them |
Don't grind expecting a reward at Level 10 or Level 25 specifically — the confirmed gates are the level-9 armor requirement and the level-30 ability unlock.
Efficient leveling checks
See the Poly Loot codes guide for the current structured list and reported rewards. 2. Sweep every quest-giver before farming — including the Mayor, indoor NPCs, and cave NPCs — so kills credit multiple quests at once. Grinding before you've accepted the relevant quest earns no credit and forces a repeat trip. 3. Place an XP Totem (1,000 coins from the Merchant) where enemies spawn densely for +50% XP in radius. 4. Put level-up points into Damage first; switch to Health or Defense when a specific area or boss outruns your gear. 5. If enemies feel slow, upgrade your weapon (dismantle spares into shards, spend at the Upgrade station) or reroll tiers rather than grinding at the same power level. Skip a hard fight and return after two or three upgrades.
EXP sources, level requirements, and unlocks can shift with progression updates, so recheck in-game after any patch.
